Almost Leaving!

So yeah....

I'm leaving Friday!!!

and its.....Wednesday!!!

Our group met today at school (cal poly pomona) to begin the assignment that will be due in a week, when we're already in China. Our team (a group of 6 people) is in charge of a one hour presentation that has to address certain architectural issues raised in the reader we were provided.

The reading I was assigned to is about the phenomena of boomtowns in the China, where factories are set up to mass produce one product (like bra rings or buttons) until they reach profit, only to attract copy cat competitors, become unprofitable, and eventually be dismantled by their boss owners.

The booming economy of China seems to be a very pressing issue for an architecturally-minded study tour of china, from what I see when skimming through the readings....exciting!

Ill make sure to share the actual documents we're reading and our final presentation once we arrive in China.

Hello World!

I'm starting this blog more for me than anyone else. I'm leaving for China this summer for a month-long study abroad program and i thought a blog would be the best way to share my experiences with others and organize my thoughts on what will most likely be an unforgettable experience. This blog will inevitably dabble into other topics, but id like to focus it mostly on my experiences as an emerging architect and architecture around the world....starting with what I'm to see in CHINA!
